Croatia played a sensational match, but against Brazil that is often times not enough.
Such was the case today.
Croatia gave Brazil all sorts of fits all night long, playing hard and bravely in this engaging encounter.
The Brazilians scored the only goal of the match in the 44th minute when Cafu delivered a ball to Kaka who made nice space for himself just above the left side of the area, and booted a beautiful finesse shot into goal.
Keeper Stipe Pletikosa had no chance.
The Croats made plenty of chances for themselves but just couldn't cash in.

None were better than in the 68th minute.
Croatia caused dangerous moments in the Brazilian area when they got deep inside and Brazil scrambled to clear.
Seconds later they launched another strong shot from close range.
Both teams had plenty of good opportunities in this the best match of the day.
Croatia showed that they possess an abundance of talent and heart.
It's a shame that they come away with no points out of this one.
