World Cup 2006

2006 WORLD CUP IN GERMANY | SWEDEN vs TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

SWEDEN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO SCORELESS

Saturday June 10, 2006 | 1st Round
It was the Shaka Hislop show as the last second Trinidad and Tobago substitute keeper made countless world class saves to hold off a Swedish shooting gallery, 0-0.

As expected, Sweden had the better of the run, but Trinidad and Tobago were fearless, making some opportunities of their own and not afraid to shoot from distance.

The end seemed to come for Trinidad and Tobago when Avery John was red carded in the 46th minute.

Then a near miracle when 10 man Trinidad and Tobago almost managed to score, thumping the crossbar in the 59th minute.

Trinidad and Tobago put on an absolutely heroic display, playing a man down the entire second half of their first ever World Cup match to hold a very respectable Sweden team to a draw.
